The EU challenges for Norwegian business are plentiful and growing. Norway’s EU policy is not primarily aimed at improving conditions for individual companies. The fact that EU directives, despite the country not being a member of the union, in most cases end up as part of Norwegian legislation remains quite unobserved in Norway. The transformation of the EEA agreement to a, for all practical purposes, bilateral agreement will reinforce this development even further.
